There are many types of movement, which are controlled by the creature's sine wave generator in its brain. The following movements that are said to belong to a body form are only the usual mode of moving that is efficient, not what always happens, because random creatures are often found with other movements.
Jumping[]
Jumping is the most common motion, and can be gotten with the majority of brains.
Two-Armed Jumping[]
Two-armed jumpers usually jump by jiggling their limbs like this. Strangely this is also the Horseshoe Worm's jumping mode.
Front-Armed Jumping[]
Two-armed jumpers with their limbs close to the front like the Scorpion jump in a different manner by waving their arms, for example this one. Some of them may not even jump.
Spring-Jumping[]
Springs contract and then extend themselves like their inorganic counterparts.
Frog-Jumping[]
Creatures with a large core and two limbs positioned very far down their bodies such as a Folding Tree may jump by pushing off the ground and then contracting while in the air. They decontract when falling.
Contact-Sensored Bouncing[]
Creatures possessing contact sensors and stiff joints will use this form of locomotion. The segments with contact sensors may seem to bounce the creature off the ground without actually moving their joints. Stealth Bombers are an excellent example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O3_zHxPMAJY
Contact-Sensored Kicking[]
Creatures possessing this type of locomotion use contact-sensor powered rapid movement that may be seen in block lobsters.
Contact-Sensored Vibrating[]
This is different from normal vibrating in that the creatures perform well. The clawed snail and jitterbug move in this manner.
Rolling[]
Some worms and ribbons roll, but not very many.
Normal Rolling[]
These worms just tumble sideways and sometimes have a wedge to help, like the first worm in the video.
Helical Rolling[]
These roll by making helices. An example is in the third worm in the above video. If a normal rolling worm is evolved further but with the added fitness function of maximum height to the distance its offspring may roll helically.
Somersaulting[]
This is the motion that theend-over end worm performs. It is a combination of contact sensors and angle sensors.
Undesirable Motions[]
Some motions are inefficient and creatures with these sine-wave generators need further evolution.
Vibrating[]
These spasmodic creatures can easily be recognized, such as the two-armed jumper shown.
Writhing[]
This movement is efficient and dancelike but too common to submit and usually a dead ending. In fact this creature was named the recurring theme worm.
Kick-Spinning[]
This movement is also efficient and dancelike but too common to submit and usually a dead ending, like Red Pepper.
Other Movements[]
Rare movements are extremely welcome; many want a worm behaving like the end-over-end worm and in fact a reward will be given to the first player to submit one. Other examples are numerous.
